I'm Back!!
...Why I was gone and what it all means.

It has been a long time since I have posted on here but things have been a little overwhelming and crazy. I wish I could say that I was off traveling the world or doing something fabulous but the truth of the matter is I have been dealing with some major health issues and recovering from surgeries. I know that blogging about my health is not what I primarily do but I want to help bring awareness to a disease that a lot of people are not aware even exists and I want to dispel some of the myths that are out there regarding this disease.
I have a disease called endometriosis. Endometriosis is an estrogen-dependent chronic disease that is technically classified as a gynecological disease and begins with painful periods making it a taboo subject for a lot of people to speak openly about but that is just where it begins. It usually begins in the reproductive organs but can and often spreads to the bowels, bladder, peritoneal cavity, lungs along with so many other areas of the body and sometimes in very rare cases the heart and brain. Endometriosis can cause debilitating pain in the abdominal and pelvic area, extreme fatigue, nausea, vomiting, back pain, fertility issues and is even said to contribute to the cause of so many other major health problems. Endo affects roughly 200 million women and 1 in 10 women are affected by this disease worldwide. You would think that with such a common disease that a proper diagnosis would be shorter than 7-10 years but that is exactly how long the average woman has to suffer before being diagnosed. More problems arise from the delay of diagnosis other than pain and suffering. By delaying the diagnosis you are also delaying the treatment and removal of the disease which can lead to detrimental damage to numerous different organs among other areas of the body. Endometriosis is one of the most commonly misdiagnosed diseases for many reasons but one of the reasons is because endometriosis is an invisible illness meaning that an endo sufferer may look perfectly healthy on the outside making it that much more difficult to convince doctors of the seriousness and urgency of the symptoms. Endometriosis is not detected through modern imaging like CT scans and MRI s, nor is it detectable via an ultrasound. The only way to detect, diagnose and remove endometriosis is through a surgical procedure called a laparoscopy which is another reason that a proper diagnosis can take so long. Once a diagnosis is made one would think that a treatment plan would be developed and the road to recovery would be underway but unfortunately there is no cure for endometriosis, none and the only thing that can be done is to try and prevent it from spreading and to manage the symptoms. A lot of people are under the impression that there is a cure for endometriosis but that is just one of the many misconceptions regarding this disease. Some of the other myths that surround endo are that hysterectomies will cure endo, painful periods are normal, menopause will cure endo, getting pregnant will cure endo, it is contagious, pre-teens and teenagers are too young to have endo, hormonal treatments can cure and prevent endometriosis and many others sadly. None of those things are true and spreading misinformation is really a detriment to the education of the disease and can cause great harm. Endometriosis is a devastating disease both physically and mentally as well. Not being able to get out of bed from pain and nausea, not being able to do certain activities, having to cancel plans, losing friends due to the limitations that endometriosis imposes upon your life, losing romantic relationships, not being able to keep a full time job and in some cases not being able to have children all cause an overwhelming amount of emotional pain and distress that nobody can even begin to fathom unless you have experienced it as well. Having a strong support system is vital for someone with endo as are support groups, a lot of which can be found on the internet and Facebook. If you do not have endometriosis but would like to be a support system for someone who does, just be there for them. If they aren't feeling good or have to cancel plans offer to go over with ice cream and watch a movie in your pajamas. If they are having a bad day and are in a lot of pain, don't try and solve it, you cant, just listen and let them know that you are there if they need you. Another great thing that you can do for your friend or family member with endometriosis is to spread awareness about this horrible, incurable disease. There is not enough funding for research so a cure can be found because not many people are aware of the disease and what it truly does to someone and their life, you can help change that. Thank you so much for reading this and please feel free to share it to help spread awareness. If you would like more information on endometriosis and events that take place in support of endo you can find them here at www.endomarch.org or you can email the Worldwide EndoMarch at info@endomarch.com or you can email myself with any questions that you may have at EndoWarrior@hotmail.com I myself have been battling this disease since the age of ten years old although I did not get a diagnosis until I was 21. I have had twelve surgeries, two of which have been within this last year alone. I am feeling a lot better thanks to the last surgery that I had in Atlanta, Georgia with Dr. Kenny Sinervo at the Center for Endometriosis Care. Since I am finally feeling better I am starting to get my fire for life back and my love of being creative. I am going to be starting my blog back up and have some really fun and exciting stuff planned for the near future. I am so ready to continue sharing my love of makeup, fashion and lifestyle. Thank you for reading this and I appreciate all of the love and support...
Here's to the future!!!

The No! No! Professional Hair Remover....Give it a Go? Or is it Really a No No?

Hello my loves!
Tonight I'm going to review a product that I have been DYING to try ever since I saw the ads on television a few years back.
I tested this product out on myself and for maximum effect I grew my leg hair out to the length required for waxing. So now that I have an entire forest growing on my legs I figured this would be a good time to give it a go. I also wanted you all to really be able to see if it works or not instead of just taking my word on it. I apologize for the grotesque picture of my leg hair but I'm taking one for the team in the name of BEAUTY!!!

The case that contains everything

I got the No!No! out of it's case and made sure it had a good full charge on it. I read the instructions and got my little area all set up. I exfoliated my legs not because the instructions said to but because I was doing everything I could think of to maximize the results. There are 2 different size attachments, small for smaller areas such as under arms or face and there is a larger size attachment for legs and arms, larger areas.

The large and small attachments
I selected the large attachment and read the directions again....hold device at a 90 degree angle with screen facing you and slowly glide across the skin 3 to 4 times per area and voila, no more hair!! I did EXACTLY as instructed and the only thing I noticed was the overwhelming aroma, stench rather, of scorching hair!

Before using No!No!
There were a few hairs that were shorter, a few that looked like they'd been a little too close to a fire and the rest just stayed exactly as they were. I thought to myself...this couldn't be! All of those commercials with smiling men and women amazed at how smooth and hair free their skin was can't be fake, right? ;) I decided to keep trying...7-10 strokes across the skin and...nope, nothin'. I finally put on an episode of Dr. Phil and mindlessly sat there and glided this contraption all over my leg for an entire hour while the sweet stench of burnt leg hair fills the room. What kind of results did that produce?

After over an hour of continuous use

My legs better feel like a baby's butt after all that hair burning, right? Nope. Prickly as a porcupine..but short. I read some more of the instructions and it said to take this buffer pad that came with it and buff away the "crystallized" leg hair (i think that's their fancy word for burnt) revealing the smoothest skin you've ever felt....yeah, if you're a porcupine!!!
The buffer that comes with it
OK, time to regroup. Maybe my leg hair is too course or dark for this product so I figured that I would try it on my arms. The hair on my arms are blond and very fine. I was willing to give it the benefit of the doubt and try again. If it's going to work at all it is going to work on blond baby fine hair, right? Sadly, no. I played with this thing for over a month giving it chance after chance to redeem itself and time after time the only thing it didn't fail at doing was disappointing me! I tried it on short hair, long hair, light hair and dark hair. I produced every possible scenario that would assist this useless contraption for success but it failed miserably every single time.

When I review products I don't set out to see if I can make them fail or deem them useless. In fact, I try to do the opposite. I try to get every angle and see how it could work if at all possible. This product was not only useless but I felt extremely deceived...as do many consumers that I've spoken to. When ordering this product your fears of it not working and being out roughly $270 are put to rest by the risk free 60 day triple guarantee. You can't go wrong with that you would assume but yet again I am massively disappointed! You basically have a 24 hour window of when you can return it and they make it so difficult if not impossible to do so.
My best advice is to RUN! Realistically, you are better off waxing or shaving. Both produce much smoother skin and take a lot less time and money.
Do not waste your time or your money on this contraption. Taking a lighter to your hair would produce the same results...smell and sight!

I hope you all enjoyed my review and thank you so much for reading what I have to share.

The Last Under Eye Concealer You Will EVER Buy!

Hello my loves!
I hope you are all having a fabulous Sunday Funday!
Today I am so excited to tell you about a new under eye concealer that I received in my Ipsy Glam Bag. This is my..."if I could only use one beauty product for the rest of my life" choice! And I am extremely confident in that choice!

We all look for the next new under eye concealer to hide the dark circles and puffy eyes that we are all too familiar with from either the times you had a little too much fun at those long never-ending nights or because you're just OLD. I plead the 5th as to which category I fall under. Regardless of the reason, that look is not flattering on anybody!

1 Concealer ONLY. No other makeup.
I honestly cannot tell you how much money I have spent trying to camouflage those horrendous dark circles and I obviously did NOT find a product that did what it claimed to do considering I was still a prowess on the hunt!

So, what is this amazing product? It is brought to you from the amazing company, It Cosmetics, and it is called Bye Bye Under Eye® . Bye Bye Under Eye is a full coverage anti aging waterproof concealer with hydro-collagen vitamins C&K. It is $25 for 0.28 fluid ounces. I received the sample size which is .11 ounces in Ipsy's December glam bag and even with everyday use I have more than half of the tube still left! You only need the tiniest dot to get amazing full coverage under each eye.

My New Best Friend! ;)

I absolutely adore this product and use it on a daily basis. If you are in a hurry you can put on Bye Bye Under Eye, mascara, blush and lip gloss and be out the door looking refreshed and beautiful! If you have a night out planned you can use this product first as your under eye concealer and build your makeup look up from there.

If  you have used Bye Bye Under Eye I would LOVE to hear what YOUR thoughts and opinions of it are! Please leave them in the comments section below along with any other products that you would like me to review or any other topic that you would like me to cover regarding beauty, fashion & a fabulous lifestyle!

Thank you for reading what I have to share!

Listerine & Vinegar Foot Soak....Use It or Lose it?

Listerine & Vinegar Foot Soak...
Use It or Lose It?

Happy New Year my loves!
I hope you are having the most fabulous start to your new year as absolutely possible!!

I want to start out by apologizing for my absence and lack of blog posts in the latter half of 2014. To say I had a lot on my plate would be an understatement. My husband and I moved from Palm Harbor Florida to Dunedin Florida, our dream location! I was also in the hospital a few times due to chronic health issues. Unfortunately, my health prevented me from doing a lot of the things that I had really wanted and planned to do. I'm very happy to tell you all, my loves, that we are finally all settled in to our new place and my health is in a much more manageable place now so I can finally bring you all I can possibly compile to make sure that you have the greatest beauty, fashion & lifestyle information available!! I hope you can forgive my absence and enjoy everything I have to offer you in the future!

One of the most common resolutions for the new year is wanting more money...whether it's making more money or saving more money the end result is ultimately the same, more money in our bank accounts (who am I kidding, I'm using the extra dollars to shop). Throughout this year I'm going to show you how to do just that, keep more money in your pocket by saving money on beauty.

I was scrolling through Pinterest and found a pin that really peaked my interest, a Listerine and vinegar foot soak that claimed to revitalize your feet and cause the dead skin and calluses on your feet to "practically wipe right off". I'm OBSESSED with good foot hygiene. There is nothing more off-putting than nasty, grubby, callused feet. No matter how much glitter, paint or jewels you put on your nails if your feet are covered in dry, cracked, callused skin you cannot make them pretty. Going to get professional pedicures puts a big dent in your bank account, especially if you're having them done on the regular. Having your nails on fleek at all times is a necessity so finding the cheapest beauty products without sacrificing the quality and the actual task at hand is a MUST! When I saw the Listerine and vinegar foot soak I immediately thought of how I MUST try this out for you and let you know if all the hype surrounding this at home beauty treatment is warranted or not.

Here are 2 "recipes" from Pinterest...

1 Cup Listerine
1 Cup vinegar
2 Cups warm water
&
1/4 Cup Listerine
1/2 Cup vinegar
1/2 Cup warm water

Why would this work? Well, Listerine contains Thymol which kills bacteria and fungi which I could see being good for a foot soak. Vinegar is acetic acid which is used in homemade chemical peels which remove dead skin cells making it another good candidate for a homemade foot soak.
One thing I did notice while doing my research is that APPLE CIDER VINEGAR has a much higher concentration of the chemical that removes the dead skin than white distilled vinegar.
So I gathered up all of my ingredients that I would need to concoct my homemade foot soak and materials needed to keep me occupied while soaking my tootsies. All of the directions say to soak for ten minutes which I did but found ZERO results so I continued to soak for a full half hour. Again, I had no results. My dead skin and calluses were in full tact! I decided to make another go of it and adjust the recipe to one I thought might work a little better. The recipe I tried was...

4 Cups Listerine
4 Cups white distilled vinegar
NO WATER

I thought maybe it would work better if it was not diluted. I was wrong. I found this little concoction no more effective than soaking my feet in warm soapy water. I used a pumice stone with an exfoliating sugar scrub and the results I got from that were no better than if I had not used the "Smurf Juice". Oh yes, a fabulous side effect from the Listerine is a smashing blue tint to your tootsies! I was advised via the Internet that the blue Listerine worked better but I think that was just a cruel joke!

I must say that I was truly shocked that this did not work especially with all the hype surrounding this pin and the popularity of the pin itself. As I mentioned earlier, I found during my research that apple cider vinegar has a higher concentration of the chemical that aids in the removal of dead skin. I'm going to try the foot soak again using apple cider vinegar and will let you know the outcome no matter what the results. As of now, my opinion of the Listerine and vinegar foot soak...use it or lose it? LOSE IT! Hands down! All you really need is warm soapy water, a nail brush, pumice stone and a great cream!

Thank you so much for reading what I have to share!

Sally’s Beauty Supply: Sally Girl Baked Eyeshadow Pots

 Hello friends!

I'm so excited to bring you this review tonight because I have always loved playing with different eyeshadow and eyeliner looks so when I find a real gem of an eyeshadow I can hardly contain myself!
I was browsing through Sally’s Beauty Supply one day and saw a display that had a plethora of eyeshadows on it! It had individual eyeshadows of every color, finish and varying degrees of pigmentation.

This trio looks great together and compliment each other very well!

I was astonished at the price ringing up at a whopping grand total of…$1.06 including tax!! And at this price I really couldn’t resist snatching up a few of each. Let’s be real though, paying a dollar for eyeshadow I really wasn’t expecting a makeup miracle nor was I expecting these little fellers to withstand all the makeup hazards the day has to offer us ladies. You can imagine my surprise when I used them and not only were they extremely pigmented but the Sally Girl Baked Eyeshadows remained intact for the duration of the day!

Sally Girl Baked Eyeshadow
True to color when used wet

I do have a few tips on how I prefer to use the Baked Eyeshadows to ensure you are really getting the most out of this product as absolutely possible. I played around with them for a bit when I first brought them home and found that if you do not dampen your brush and use them wet you really don’t get much pigmentation. When used “properly” the effect that you get is dramatic, precise and has a slight reflective sheen.

I am in love with this blue! It's great as a liner as well!

I am really impressed with these baked eyeshadows for multiple reasons. The first reason and the most obvious reason is, of course, the price. Introducing you to amazing beauty products at an affordable price is what inspired me to start this blog in the first place. I mean, come on, $1.06 for a great baked eyeshadow? SCORE! At that price you can afford to buy every color imaginable! Another reason to run out and get your hands on these beauties is their pigmentation and gorgeous color!

Swatch of color number 388123

I was really impressed with the assortment of colors. They have a great selection of bold colors and also a great selection of neutral colors as well. I promise you that you will not be disappointed with these. Sally’s Beauty Supply’s Sally Girl Baked Eyeshadows are not only a great price but a great product as well.

If you have tried this product please leave a comment below and tell me what you think!

Mascara Review: No Falsies Needed

Hello friends!
I hope everyone is having a beautiful end to their week! Last week my husband took me shopping and I purchased some amazing and not so amazing products to review and compare for you. The most requested product review was for mascara. Shopping for mascara is not the simplest of tasks. There are so many different choices for mascara to choose from. You can get mascara that makes your lashes longer. You can get mascara that makes your lashes thicker. There is blue mascara, black and brown mascara. There's mascara with glitter and mascara with fibers, you could never try them all yourself. Lucky for you, I've had an obsession with mascara since I started wearing makeup many many moons ago ;)

The mascara that I am so confident in recommending to you is They're Real! from Benefit Cosmetics. I first tried this mascara when I was given a duo sample pack from benefit as a birthday gift from Sephora.

According to the package, They're Real! claims to lengthen, curl, volumize, lift and separate your lashes. It says that they're jet black, long wearing formula will not wear off. I was amazed because for the first time in I think, um, EVER, the product does EXACTLY what it claims to do. I, apparently, am not the only one that thinks this because the package also says that 94% of users saw dramatic length and volume, 90% saw base to tip curl, 94% saw visible lift and a whopping 100% of users saw long-wearing results!

After using the travel size that I received for my birthday I purchased the full size tube from Sephora for $23. I know a lot of you are used to paying between 6 and 10 dollars for mascara and are having a hard time justifying dishing out 23 big ones, but trust me, it is more than worth it! You can't bat your beautiful lashes at a young stud if they're stuck together and less than stellar.

Think about how much money you've wasted trying to find that perfect mascara... and now your search is over! You never have to waste endless dollars ever again and can instead invest in a knock out product that will cause any guy to look twice and have every woman wondering if they're real...don't worry, we're still talking about eyelashes!

Benefit Cosmetics has a lot of amazing products but their beyond mascara, They're Real!, is definitely my favorite! Like I mentioned earlier, I've tried a lot of mascaras but after finding this gem I will never have to go on the hunt again!
If you've tried this mascara, please, let me know what you think in the comments below.

L'oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur Eye Treatment Review

Hello friends!
I absolutely love trying out all of the latest and even some of the not so greatest products for you all, my friends, to keep you looking fresh and fabulous without leaving you broke and homeless! Is there a product you've been dying to try but are afraid that you may just be wasting your money? Are there two products you're trying to choose between but aren't sure what to expect? Well I have great news for you, if you leave the name of the product(s) in the comments section on ANY post I'll make sure to provide you with the most detailed and informative review that I am capable of. These products can be anything pertaining to beauty, fashion or lifestyle so knock on your noggin and tell me what you want reviewed and/or compared.

Today I am reviewing a product that so many people have been asking me about lately which is the L'OREAL Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Eye Smoother Eye Treatment. This is a new product from L'OREAL that claims to erase the look of crow's feet, fatigue and signs of puffiness with opti-blur technology which is supposed to diffuse light in millions of directions, instantly smoothing fine lines, wrinkles and the appearance of pores. This eye cream claims to INSTANTLY reduce the signs of aging and fatigue around the eye area to create a younger, more radiant appearance. This product also contains pro-retinol A, vitamin C and what L'OREAL says is a specially-designed peptide for the eye area to reduce the appearance of aging over time.

Now that I've informed you of what the L'OREAL Revitalift Miracle Blur Eye Treatment says it's going to do I'll tell you what it actually does.

I bought this product from the local supermarket 4 days ago for $24.99. I could not wait to get home and try it because I have seen numerous commercials and have had multiple women inquire about it with high hopes. The packaging is nothing extravagant but that's not something that I care about as a consumer.

When I put a dab on my finger just to get a feel of the consistency and texture I was very impressed. The cream has a nice silky smooth texture without being greasy which, in my opinion, is a major bonus! I washed my face and did my usual bedtime routine for my face and put the eye cream on last, as instructed per packaging. I noticed the fine lines under my eyes were not as pronounced as they were prior to using the eye cream. The next day when I was getting ready I applied the eye cream before applying any of my eye makeup and was really surprised at the results!

I noticed that the fine lines and crow's feet around my eyes were dramatically reduced and the dark circles around my eyes diminished as well. The cream isn't greasy so your makeup doesn't smear, it stays in place. I noticed my eyes looked brighter and not so tired. Makeup settling in the fine lines under my eyes is my biggest pet peeve when it comes to makeup so having a product that reduces the appearance of said lines is definitely worth the $25 and change it costs to purchase it. I'm not sure I would label this a miracle but it definitely works!

Have you tried the L'OREAL Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Eye Smoother Eye Treatment? If so, please leave a comment below and tell us what you think of it!

Thank you for reading what I have to share!

Tip of the Week #3

Hello friends!
I want to start by apologizing for not getting my tip of the week out earlier but my husband and I were in Orlando celebrating our first wedding anniversary. Holla! We're back now and I have so many reviews to post, some are good and some are not so good. I despise having to give a not so pleasant review but my job is to give you all, my friends, a little insight in to the products that you are considering spending your hard earned dollars on.

Now, let's get on to the tip of the week!
This week, my tip is one that can be used in so many ways! So, what is it?
Invest in a white eye pencil.
I prefer a jumbo eye pencil just because they tend to go on smoother and are creamier. My favorite jumbo eye pencil is by NYX and the color is Milk (#604). If you have darker skin, I would recommend using a champagne color.

White eyeliner is great because it brightens your eyes and gives you a refreshed, well rested appearance. The eyes aren't the only thing that the white pencil enhances, making it one of my beauty regime staples.

The most obvious use, of course, is using the eye pencil as an eye pencil (I know, I'm a genius). For a clean, modern look try using the white eye pencil by itself creating a winged edge. This is a really cute look if you're going for minimal makeup and using the white liner for a nice clean, crisp pop of white. If you are doing the white on it's own just be sure not to draw the line too close to your upper lash line. Doing so will give you more of a clown effect instead of a chic modern look and the last time I checked, Bozo wasn't in style. If you are willing to be a little more daring you can add a bright colored liner right below the white line on your upper lash line. I love playing around with different colors in the summer. If you rock this look make sure the rest of your makeup is neutral so you don't look overdone. These are both great looks for summer because they look so clean, fresh and fun!

Another look I love with the white eye pencil is very similar to the one mentioned above except instead of a bright colored pencil along the lash line you use a brown or black liner to give your eyes a very dramatic, intense look. You begin with the white pencil drawing a white line double the thickness that you normally would and finish with brown or black along the lash line. You can add a winged edge for a more dramatic effect.

To create the appearance of larger, brighter eyes apply the white eye pencil to your lower water line. When you first apply it it will look stark and harsh but after you blink a few times it will naturally soften and blend to an amazing, bright eyed gaze.

Do you get aggravated by eye shadows whose color doesn't pop? Ever feel like you put your eyeshadow on only to find a few short hours later that your color looks dull and faded? Just another reason to add the jumbo white eye pencil to your plethora of pencils in your makeup collection. Use the jumbo eye pencil as a base/primer for your eyeshadow by covering your lid with the white pencil and adding your eyeshadow color of choice on top. Keep in mind when choosing your eyeshadow color that the white will lighten the pigment, so, choose a darker color than the final result you are trying to achieve. Not only will your shadow stay exactly where you put it but it will really stand out and pop!

One of my all time favorite uses for the white eye pencil is also one that I think makes the most dramatic difference.
Line the inner corners of your eye by tracing the natural V  shape in the inner corners and then blending. By doing this, you will make your eyes appear larger and really give them an awake, refreshed look. On the contrary, if you have wide set eyes you will want to avoid this tip and instead, line the OUTER corners and it will make your eyes appear closer together.

You can also use the white eye pencil to highlight your brow  bone. Lightly apply directly under your brow and blend. I prefer to apply the eye pencil under the outer portion of my brow only but you can do it either way. And while we're on the topic of brows......you can also use the white pencil as a guide when plucking. Simply trace the shape of the brow you are trying to achieve and then pluck away the white!

I love the white eye pencil because it is so versatile. So far, we've talked about enhancing the eyes but let's talk about enhancing something that every woman wishes were bigger.......your lips! By applying a thin, faint line above the cupid's bow and below your lower lip, you will create the illusion of fuller, more voluptuous lips. Make sure you blend the line o you get the desired effect that you are looking for.

One more thing to tell you about and then we can wrap this little ditty up. If you have a blemish and a less than stellar concealer you can use the eye pencil to cover the blemish and give your foundation a little help to give you that flawless finish that we all strive to achieve.
