Tip of the Week #3

Hello friends!
I want to start by apologizing for not getting my tip of the week out earlier but my husband and I were in Orlando celebrating our first wedding anniversary. Holla! We're back now and I have so many reviews to post, some are good and some are not so good. I despise having to give a not so pleasant review but my job is to give you all, my friends, a little insight in to the products that you are considering spending your hard earned dollars on.

Now, let's get on to the tip of the week!
This week, my tip is one that can be used in so many ways! So, what is it?
Invest in a white eye pencil.
I prefer a jumbo eye pencil just because they tend to go on smoother and are creamier. My favorite jumbo eye pencil is by NYX and the color is Milk (#604). If you have darker skin, I would recommend using a champagne color.

White eyeliner is great because it brightens your eyes and gives you a refreshed, well rested appearance. The eyes aren't the only thing that the white pencil enhances, making it one of my beauty regime staples.

The most obvious use, of course, is using the eye pencil as an eye pencil (I know, I'm a genius). For a clean, modern look try using the white eye pencil by itself creating a winged edge. This is a really cute look if you're going for minimal makeup and using the white liner for a nice clean, crisp pop of white. If you are doing the white on it's own just be sure not to draw the line too close to your upper lash line. Doing so will give you more of a clown effect instead of a chic modern look and the last time I checked, Bozo wasn't in style. If you are willing to be a little more daring you can add a bright colored liner right below the white line on your upper lash line. I love playing around with different colors in the summer. If you rock this look make sure the rest of your makeup is neutral so you don't look overdone. These are both great looks for summer because they look so clean, fresh and fun!

Another look I love with the white eye pencil is very similar to the one mentioned above except instead of a bright colored pencil along the lash line you use a brown or black liner to give your eyes a very dramatic, intense look. You begin with the white pencil drawing a white line double the thickness that you normally would and finish with brown or black along the lash line. You can add a winged edge for a more dramatic effect.

To create the appearance of larger, brighter eyes apply the white eye pencil to your lower water line. When you first apply it it will look stark and harsh but after you blink a few times it will naturally soften and blend to an amazing, bright eyed gaze.

Do you get aggravated by eye shadows whose color doesn't pop? Ever feel like you put your eyeshadow on only to find a few short hours later that your color looks dull and faded? Just another reason to add the jumbo white eye pencil to your plethora of pencils in your makeup collection. Use the jumbo eye pencil as a base/primer for your eyeshadow by covering your lid with the white pencil and adding your eyeshadow color of choice on top. Keep in mind when choosing your eyeshadow color that the white will lighten the pigment, so, choose a darker color than the final result you are trying to achieve. Not only will your shadow stay exactly where you put it but it will really stand out and pop!

One of my all time favorite uses for the white eye pencil is also one that I think makes the most dramatic difference.
Line the inner corners of your eye by tracing the natural V  shape in the inner corners and then blending. By doing this, you will make your eyes appear larger and really give them an awake, refreshed look. On the contrary, if you have wide set eyes you will want to avoid this tip and instead, line the OUTER corners and it will make your eyes appear closer together.

You can also use the white eye pencil to highlight your brow  bone. Lightly apply directly under your brow and blend. I prefer to apply the eye pencil under the outer portion of my brow only but you can do it either way. And while we're on the topic of brows......you can also use the white pencil as a guide when plucking. Simply trace the shape of the brow you are trying to achieve and then pluck away the white!

I love the white eye pencil because it is so versatile. So far, we've talked about enhancing the eyes but let's talk about enhancing something that every woman wishes were bigger.......your lips! By applying a thin, faint line above the cupid's bow and below your lower lip, you will create the illusion of fuller, more voluptuous lips. Make sure you blend the line o you get the desired effect that you are looking for.

One more thing to tell you about and then we can wrap this little ditty up. If you have a blemish and a less than stellar concealer you can use the eye pencil to cover the blemish and give your foundation a little help to give you that flawless finish that we all strive to achieve.

I hope everyone has enjoyed the tip of the week today and if I missed anything, please, add it in the comments below. I'm going to be posting a lot today so keep your eyes open and ready for some more reviews!

Thank you for reading what I have to share!
